DOWNTOWN BELMONT: The Downtown Belmont barber shop is located behind the iconic 115-year-old Stowe Mercantile building along with Catawba River Outfitters on Main Street. Stop in and see us for great conversation, a great atmosphere, and a top notch haircut or shave!

BELMONT EAST: Our newest location! The East Belmont barber shop is located on Catawba Street East of Park Street towards the River District and conveniently located across the street from the Catawba River Antique Mall.

New to the area needed to find a barber. Read the reviews for several before stopping here. Colin gave me a wife approved haircut which is perfect since I had my share of unapproved haircuts in 40 yrs of marriage.
He prefers appointments so I will book it next time. Found a barber 😊

We love Mercantile Barber shop; Colin cuts my 2 year old’s hair and my husband’s hair and he’s always so sweet and patient with my son, always gives him the best cut despite my wiggly boy! My son always enjoys coming in because Colin makes the experience so great for him!

Always a great experience, excellent place to get childrens haircuts as well! The barbers are always friendly and give your the real barbershop experience! The haircuts are done with precision and finesse. I wish my hair grew back faster so that I could come back in more often! Thank you for keeping me looking good!

A haircut is something you wear day in and day out so quality and style are key. Jamie has been my barber for over 6+ years. His attention to detail is impeccable. It’s not a stretch to say he’s the best barber I’ve ever frequented. He gets to know his clientele and it feels like a visiting an ol’ friend for an appointment. Jamie listens to your input as well as feedback to provide the best experience and service possible.

Another great barbershop experience!
Great ambiance in the new location!
Great combination of old school and new school!
Also they have for sale various supplies and skateboarding apparatus, of which I am woefully ignorant.
Hey I'm old enough to have been on a skateboard made from a 2x4 and disassembled metal skates. Now that was REAL skateboarding!
Hopefully they find a place for a chin-up bar like in the Main Street location!

Definitely best to call for an appointment!

I look forward to their pending YouTube live streams from the barabershop!

The ONLY place I will go to get my haircut. This place is a true barbershop. When you walk in your are immersed in what ever conversation or activity is going on. Alan is my go-to barber, but if anyone was available I wouldn't hesitate to sit down and get a haircut from them. I look forward to coming here everytime. If you are looking for a place to go, stop looking immediately and call and get an appt. Become one of the lucky people to get an all around great experience at The Mercantile Barber Co. If you don't have time to wait for an appointment, coming soon will be their secondary place that will have more walk-ins available!

The first time I come and got my haircut was fine. But it come today at 1:30 store hours are till 2:30!! and The first thing out of the guy's mouth do I have a appointment? Nowhere does it say you have to have an appointment! He was kind of rude well he was just rude! they're shutting down early so my last trip to Mercantile. And was not very nice about it! And I'm going to tell everybody and I'll keep l we'll keep posting over and over again!!

Colin Lesenger did an amazing job, for a great price. I actually feel like they're undercharging here. I've just recently moved to the area so I've been trying out just about every barbershop in the Charlotte area and I think I've just found the one that I'll be going to for the foreseeable future: here.

Absolutely the best barber shop I have been to as an adult. Staff is always attentive, kind, caring, knowledgeable, courteous, and enjoyable. As a bonus, you will never walk out of here looking like you have a five dollar haircut, they are always on point. Also love the old days local nostalgia style of this place. In my opinion, perfection has finally been ascertained in the world of old school barbershops.

Sean cut my sons hair and did such a great job! My middle school son is super picky and Sean did exactly what he wanted without hesitation. He was so kind and had a great personality. I will definitely been bringing him here for his haircuts from now on!

I’ve been a customer here for roughly a year now. I’ve never once received anything shy of excellence from these guys. Kyle is my barber and he takes his time to make sure that your haircut is flawless. No matter what they always have smiles on their faces and you always leave feeling like your time was valued by them. Blessed to have found a place that cares about their customers and their craft. I would recommend them to anybody and everybody who wants a professional, sharp, and consistent haircut. And some good old fashion barbershop conversation.

The Mercantile Barber did an awesome job on James, my boyfriend! He absolutely loved the cut and hot shave. Unlike anything else he has experienced in Gaston County. Great Service, Cool Atmosphere, and reasonably priced! Highly Recommend!
